Microcreds overview
This microcredential is offered as an introduction to the concept of sustainability. In this week 6 course, we will explore where limits to space, infrastructure, and resources may cause challenges and how this impacts your business/organisation.
Using a series of real-world case studies, this course looks at sustainability from an environmental and social (social, cultural, and economic) point of view. Sustainability in transportation, planning, tourism, services, and resources will be explored, as well as ensuring equality as part of sustainability by taking in account gender, sexuality, race, and disability, all from a geographic perspective. Examples will be presented to help you to evaluate, establish and implement a sustainable framework into your organisation.
Requirements
Applicants are normally expected to hold a first or second class Level 8 honours degree (NFQ or other internationally recognised equivalents) and/or have at least 5 years of relevant industrial experience.
Candidates who do not meet the minimum entry criteria may be considered in accordance with the University's policy on the Recognition of Prior Learning. These candidates will be required to submit a portfolio to demonstrate their technical and/or management experience.
Successful completion of this module does not automatically qualify you for entry into a further award. All programme applicants must meet the entry requirements listed if applying for a further award.
