This micro-credential is suitable to those who want to rapidly upskill in key innovation frameworks, as well as leaders/ managers who need a good working knowledge of types of innovation approaches that can strengthen their organisation's innovation capability.
It offers a comprehensive introduction to key concepts, tools and frameworks to help learners apply their knowledge and skills to tackle real-world challenges.
This micro-credential introduces three essential innovation frameworks: creative problem-solving, design thinking, and systems thinking. It offers a comprehensive introduction to each framework, highlighting key concepts and tools.
The Micro-credential maintains a persistent focus on solving real-world problems, guiding participants through the practical, hands-on application of approaches to address challenges for individuals, their teams, and organisations.
How will this Micro-credential be delivered?
The micro-credential will be delivered in a blended format.
- It will start with an in-person orientation.
- Weeks 2-6 sessions will be delivered online.
- Session
on week seven will take place in-person with an innovation sprint. - In
between classes, students will be provided with relevant reading and self-studyactivities for each week, which they can undertake in their own time
Requirements
- Level 8 Honours degree (or equivalent) in any discipline (clear photo of
parchment or copy of transcripts). Those with a demonstrated interest in systems thinking, design thinking, creative problem solving and/or innovation and entrepreneurship will be prioritised. - CV (2 page max) and a statement of interest (300 words max) which will be used to select the most suitable candidates.
- Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements, but who can demonstrate three or more years of work experience in a relevant professional or managerial context, are welcome to apply via Recognition of Prior Learning
HCI Fees Subsidy
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria may qualify for a 50% fee subsidy, subject to the availability of subsidized places.
